My Summer Bucket List

I love summer. I love sunshine. I love the long hours of sunshine we have in the summer. Every summer I try to cram six months of activities into our two months of sunshine. Some years it can be exhausting, but always it’s lots of fun.

Here are 8 things on my summer bucket list.

Star Gazing and photographing the milky way – There is nothing like finding someplace free of light pollution, with little to no moonlight to see the awesomeness of the stars in the night sky.

Camping – Weather in a tent or an RV it’s great to be outdoors. Be sure to bring the marshmallows, and if you live in western Washington, it’s always good to have a few blue tarps.

A Baseball Game –Baseball and summer just go together. I enjoy seeing the Mariners play, but minor league games are great too. Plan to get there early enough to walk around and enjoy the park.

Watching a Full Moon Rise –Most of the year our cloud cover makes this impossible. So when summer is here I make sure I don’t miss it. Read more in my post here. https://www.everydayadventuresnw.com/adventures/where-can-i-watch-the-moonrise

The beach – Sand and waves. Yes please! Between Oregon and Washington, we have many beaches to choose from. It could be a day trip, a weekend or a longer vacation.

Watching a Sunset – So many great places to see a sunset here! I try to do this several times throughout the summer.

A Hike – My favorite hikes usually include stunning mountain views. There are several hikes around Mount Rainier that I like but the options for great hikes in our area are truly unlimited.

A Picnic or BBQ – What summer wouldn’t be complete without a picnic or BBQ? It could be in a backyard or maybe a local park, but summer should always include good times with friends and family.

So what’s on your summer bucket list? I would love to hear from you!
