The 2025 Scenic Calendar is here!

I have so much fun making a new calendar every year. My goal is to come up with 12 new images each year that are “calendar worthy”. It’s something I think about all year as we are out and about photographing our adventures.

For the most part, I like the calendar images to change with the seasons.  To displays images from the season they represent. October and November will have images taken in the fall for example. It means I need to continue looking for new pictures throughout the year – something I enjoy anyway.

Often I know right away as we are enjoying a view that it will be in the upcoming calendar. Sometimes I don’t know until after I have downloaded and edited an image. Also the dimensional constraints required for the calendar eliminate some shots that would otherwise be included. Panoramic images don’t work well. And everything needs to be in landscape profile not portrait profile.

It’s a fun project that helps me to continue to stretch and grow as a photographer. It keeps me looking for new locations, new angles, and fantastic light. I especially enjoy when we find an unexpected new location or event that makes it into the calendar. This year there are 4 of those.
